About the role
To support the growth of an investment firm based in Luxembourg, we are looking to recruit an experienced AML/KYC professional who is highly motivated, curious and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will have a strong sense of initiative, excellent organizational skills and a digital, efficiency-oriented mindset, with a genuine interest in streamlining processes and leveraging automation and AI tools.
This is an opportunity to join a growing team in a dynamic environment, working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to a wide range of operational and development projects.
Principal Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an efficient AML/KYC documentation workflow across the organization. Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the main point of contact for AML/KYC-related matters, both internally and externally, across a portfolio of approximately 250–300 companies, primarily special purpose vehicles (SPVs).
- Collecting, reviewing and maintaining AML/KYC documentation relating to portfolio companies, investors and relevant counterparties.
- Ensuring that external stakeholders, including banks, lenders, co-investors and regulatory authorities, receive accurate and complete information in a timely manner.
- Liaising with external stakeholders to clarify documentation requirements and identify appropriate solutions where requests exceed the scope of information that can reasonably be provided.
- Maintaining and updating relevant Luxembourg corporate registers, including the Trade and Companies Register (RCS) and the Register of Beneficial Owners (RBE).
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping and the proper completion and maintenance of the dedicated KYC system.
- Working closely with Compliance colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating the annual collection of information required for FATCA and CRS reporting.
- Implementing action plans and following up on outstanding AML/KYC files, escalating persistent issues to senior management when necessary.
- Reviewing and optimizing AML/KYC workflows to improve efficiency, facilitate information sharing and strengthen controls, including through the automation of recurring tasks.
- Coordinating the implementation of new digital and AI-enabled tools and supporting their integration into the organization's existing systems.
- Providing support on other day-to-day legal and compliance matters as required.
Profile sought
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Economics, Finance or a related field.
- Initial relevant experience within a financial institution, investment firm or advisory/consulting environment, with exposure to AML/CTF matters.
- Familiarity with the Luxembourg corporate environment, particularly the RCS and RBE.
- Good knowledge of EU and/or Luxembourg AML/CTF regulations, KYC requirements and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills, combined with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
- Digital and efficiency-driven mindset, with a genuine interest in AI and automation tools.
- Good command of Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Copilot.
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with senior stakeholders and external counterparties.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. French is considered an advantage.
